Five Things to Arrange - While You Still Can ....
1. A legal and current Will.
Imagine when your time here is done, as well as dealing with their grief, your loved ones are having to fill out forms and attend court hearings to deal with your estate. I’ll work with you to make sure they don’t have to go through that!
You need a legally binding, up-to-date Will in place. Together we’ll make sure everything has been considered and all eventualities are catered for. Allowing your loved ones to focus on their grief and being together at such a difficult time.
2. Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA).
An LPA is your opportunity to say who will make decisions for you if you become unable to make them yourself. Many people don’t realise that an LPA is just as important as a Will.
Who would be legally able to make health decisions in your best interest?
Who would be legally able to deal with your finances and property if you couldn’t?
If you don’t want professionals such a Social Workers, Solicitors and courts to be the decision makers… if you don’t want yours and your family’s wishes to be ignored, you need a LPA.
I can set it up for you!
3. Lasting Power Of Attorney (BLPA).
What would happen to your business if you passed away or had an accident tomorrow that left you incapacitated?
Who would be able to access your company finances?
Who would make sure invoices and employees are paid?
A Business LPA says who can deal with your business affairs and access bank accounts if you become unable to. Without the BLPA in place, even a successful business can find itself in real trouble, or even out of business.
I can get what you need in place to protect your business, any business partners and your staff.
A trust is a legal arrangement for managing your assets. They’re a powerful tool for ensuring your assets and personal wishes are honoured. Working in partnership with your Will, a trust gives added protection to those you leave your estate to.
It protects against dilution of inheritance and prevents your loved one’s inheritance from being taken from them in the event of a divorce. A trust can reduce or even eliminate inheritance tax.
There are many different types of trusts and they can be very complicated for you to set up. I am fully trained and insured to arrange your trust for you – for much less than the cost of a solicitor.
5. Deputyship.
If your loved one has now lost the ability to make decisions for themselves, and there is no Lasting Power of Attorney in place, you need to apply for Deputyship. It is necessary so that you can make decisions in their best interest and manage their finances.
This can be a lengthy and complicated process to manage on your own – on top of everything else you have going on.
I can help you through this process. Making sure everything is done properly and ensuring the application is accepted by the Court.
